Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned "Israel's" massacring of Palestinians in the Jabalia refugee camp, calling the occupation inhumane and fascist.

"The racist Israeli entity has committed a new war crime against humanity through the criminal shelling of Jabalia camp in the Gaza Strip," Syria's Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The attack killed and injured more than 400 civilians of Jabalia's residents in the northern Gaza Strip. The refugee camp was initially designated for thousands of Palestinian refugees who were forced toward Gaza in the 1948 Nakba.

The camp is also a significant symbol for Gazans and Palestinians, as its development represents the plight of the Palestinian people and their perseverance in the face of occupation. Jabalia played an important role in Gaza's Resistance against the Israeli occupation, which withdrew from the Strip in September 2005.

The Syrian Ministry's statement shed light on "Israel's" scorched-earth policy which has left thousands dead all over the Gaza Strip and around 200,000 housing units damaged or destroyed.

"[The Israeli occupation] which commits dozens of massacres on a daily basis and adopts the scorched-earth policy, uncovers its inhumane fascist face, which completely contradicts the values set by Geneva Conventions, UN Charter, and the most basic human rights."

Moreover, the Ministry highlighted "Israel's" bloody colonial history where "Zionist gangs in the 1940s and 1950s" massacred Palestinians in "Deir Yassin and Kafr Qasim to establish their artificial entity."

Western officials have insisted on adopting the Israeli rhetoric regarding its war on Gaza, avoiding clear condemnations of the Israeli-committed atrocities and instead shielding themselves with the repetitive claim that "Israel has the right to defend itself."

The statement criticized such an approach saying that it enables "Israeli forces to continue destroying hospitals, camps, and residential areas."

“Syria, which has suffered from terrorism backed by Western countries and its tool in the region ("Israel"), has always warned the Israeli entity against the repercussions of the Israeli crimes in the region,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry also called on the world "to confront this great danger which will affect the region and the countries that support Israeli fascism."

In a similar context, Saudi Arabia also condemned "Israel's" deadly bombing of the Jabalia refugee camp.

The Kingdom's Foreign Ministry denounced the "inhumane targeting of the refugee camp" in the strongest terms possible.
