Syria condemns Israeli aggression, warns of dangerous escalation
Syria urged the UN to fulfill its responsibilities by addressing Israeli violations, including ending the occupation of Arabic territories.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday issued a statement strongly condemning last night's attack as a continuation of Israeli aggression and warned of a potential escalation that could have severe and uncontrollable consequences for the region.
According to the statement, Israeli forces on July 14 carried out airstrikes from the occupied Golan targeting military sites in southern Syria and a residential building in Kafar Sousseh, Damascus.
The attack resulted in the death of one Syrian soldier and injuries to three others, as well as significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

In its statement, the Ministry criticized the international community for remaining silent on Israeli actions, which undermine the UN's ability to enforce international law and maintain global legitimacy.
Syria also urged the UN to fulfill its responsibilities by addressing Israeli violations, including ending the occupation of Arab territories.
"The persistence of the Israeli occupation authorities in their attacks on Syrian territory and other countries in the region threatens to drag them into a dangerous escalation that will be difficult to control and will lead to grave, unpredictable consequences," the Ministry said.
The statement reaffirmed Syria's right to defend its sovereignty and seek liberation of its occupied lands through all legitimate means under international law.

Syria is the target of frequent aggressions from "Israel". In April, "Israel" attacked the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, killing IRGC Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi among many others.
Iran retaliated by sending a wave of rockets and hypersonic missiles towards the occupied territories. "Israel" responded back by initiating an attack on Isfahan, which was fully intercepted by Iranian forces.
