Syrian Arab Army soldier wounded in latest Israeli aggression
"Israel" launches missiles against rural Damascus, Syria, in its latest aggression against the country which resulted in the wounding of a member of the Syrian Arab Army air defenses unit.
A Syrian Arab Army soldier was wounded, on Wednesday, at dawn, by an Israeli missile attack targeting military positions in rural Damascus, Syria, while Syrian Arab Army air defenses managed to shoot down several missiles.
In a statement to SANA, a military source said "At around 1:5 a.m. today, the Israeli enemy carried out aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points south-west of Damascus. Our air defense media responded to the aggression rockets and dropped some of them."
Moreover, the source stated that the aggression resulted in "serious injuries to a soldier and material losses."
In turn, the Al Mayadeen correspondent in Syria reported that the explosions were concentrated in the western and southern regions of the countryside of Damascus towards the city of Al-Kiswah.
On May 29, the Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that the Israeli aggression that targeted the vicinity of Damascus was carried out using four missiles and targeted military sites.
Our correspondent, then, explained that two missiles hit the vicinity of Qatana in the western countryside of Damascus, one missile hit the south of Damascus in the vicinity of the Al-Kiswah area, while the fourth targeted the vicinity of a site southeast of the capital, in the vicinity of Damascus Airport.
He also stressed that aggression only resulted in material damages, noting that this Israeli aggression was the second this month and the first after the Arab summit in Jeddah took place on May 19, which witnessed Syria's participation in a first since 11 years, after the country's return to the Arab League.
