Syrian media: No date set yet for Syrian, Turkish FMs meeting
Syrian sources deny media narratives of a fixed date for a meeting with Turkey.
Local Syrian media reported on the anticipated meeting between the Syrian and Turkish foreign affairs ministers in Moscow next Wednesday.
The Syrian newspaper Al-Watan reported that "there is no agreed-upon date of a meeting between the Syrian and Turkish FMs," based on statements from informed sources.
According to the sources, "All news in this regard so far is devoid of truth."
Additionally, they clarified that the anticipated meeting is conditioned upon the progress made by the ad hoc committees created following the tripartite meeting between the Syrian, Turkish, and Russian ministers of defense in Moscow in late December. The purpose of these committees is to ensure compliance with what has been agreed on.
Additionally, Sputnik reported yesterday that the meeting set between the Syrian, Turkish, and Russian FMs is still provisional with no fixed date.
In response to circulated narratives about a tripartite meeting of foreign ministers in the UAE, it was reaffirmed that there is no fixed date for the meeting yet and it is yet to be agreed upon.

According to the Iranian agency, a meeting is expected to be held on Wednesday in the presence of Emirati FM Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
On December 15, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he had proposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin a prospective meeting between the presidents of Syria Turkey, and Russia preceded by a meeting of the chiefs of security apparatuses and defense ministers.
It's also notable that a tripartite meeting was held last month which included the defense ministers of Syria, Turkey, and Russia in Moscow. Attendees discussed potential solutions for the Syrian conflict, the refugee crisis, and the joint efforts for combatting terrorism in Syria.
