Tebboune reaffirms Algeria's support for Palestine
The Algerian President has previously refused to label the Palestinian Resistance a "terrorist" organization.
On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed "the firm commitment of Algeria to support the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people and its just cause for the recovery of its inalienable and non-negotiable rights, including the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders and UN resolutions."
"We extend our highest regards to this steadfast people, despite all the horrendous violations they endure and the desperate attempts to liquidate their cause and destroy the foundations on which any solution can be built," added Tebboune, while strongly condemning the "apartheid and genocide crimes" committed by the occupier in Palestine.
Tebboune has previously emphasized the right of the Palestinians to defend their homeland and condemned Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity.

"All of this is happening at a time when the international community and the relevant organs of the United Nations are shamefully and dangerously failing to stop the war machine in its madness directed against a defenseless people," Tebboune said, adding that this situation "holds us, the advocates of just justice and peace, responsible for exerting more efforts and working in the course of upholding the principles and objectives of peace in the United Nations Charter."
He also called for ensuring the necessary protection for the Palestinian people and putting an end to the historical injustice they are subjected to.
Earlier, the Algerian President refused to label the Palestinian Resistance movement - Hamas a "terrorist" organization and pointed out historical parallels with the persecution of the Algerian people and the same label attributed to its resistance fighters by the French.
A month ago, Tebboune convened a meeting of the Supreme Security Council to discuss developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the region following Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and subsequent Israeli aggressions.
In an official statement, Algeria expressed its "rejection of the occupation's actions against innocent civilians" and reaffirmed its "full solidarity with the Palestinian people."
