Tehran: Fifth round of talks with Saudi Arabia is constructive
The Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council spokesman praises the Iranian-Saudi dialogue and stresses that Tehran will continue the dialogue until a positive outcome is reached.
Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini, Spokesperson for the Iranian Commission of National Security and Foreign Policy said that the Iranian-Saudi round of talks was positive and the impressions were very constructive.
During a press statement, Abbaszadeh Meshkini said that if important countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey enjoy good relations, West Asia can turn into a power bloc.
He stressed that Iran aims to take the lead in strengthening relations between the countries of the region and to play a wise role, without looking back, appreciating the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq to provide the appropriate ground for the start of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Abbaszadeh Meshkini also added that Tehran will continue the Iranian-Saudi dialogue until a positive result is reached because strengthening relations between the two countries will benefit the region politically, culturally, and economically.
Last Thursday, the fifth round of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia was held in Iraq, in the presence of senior delegates of the two countries. The Iranian-Saudi relations have recently witnessed a development, represented by holding five rounds of talks in Iraq.
Furthermore, Noor News indicated that high-ranking Iraqi and Omani officials played an important role in arranging joint meetings between representatives of Tehran and Riyadh. The agency noted that high-ranking officials from the Iranian Supreme National Security Council and the head of the Saudi intelligence service participated in the tour.
