Tehran: IAEA Notified of Iran's Uranium Enrichment
Iran's Permanent Mission to the International Organizations in Vienna says the IAEA is aware of Iran's uranium enrichment activity at the Natanz and Fordow facilities.
Iran's Permanent Mission to the International Organizations in Vienna, Mohammad Reza Ghaebi, said that IAEA has been notified of his country's uranium enrichment at the Natanz and Fordow facilities.
Ghaebi mentioned that IAEA's new quarterly report on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action mentioned that Tehran increased its stockpiles of 60% enriched uranium and beyond the JCPOA-permitted level of 3.67% and stressed that Iran's activity is continuing with the IAEA's knowledge.
He noted that Tehran and the organization are communicating with an aim to resolve the remaining differences in the technical issues, following the agency's report that indicated that Iran was violating the restrictions imposed by the nuclear agreement.
The permanent mission also called on IAEA member states to refrain from making "hasty or politically motivated comments" in this regard.
In a related context, Behrouz Kamalvandi, a spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said Wednesday that IAEA chief Rafael Grossi will arrive in Iran on November 22.
Grossi will meet Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian and Iranian Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami on Tuesday, the spokesman added.
The IAEA is expected to hold a meeting for its Board of Governors before resuming the nuclear talks.
