Tehran: Martyr Soleimani is a hero in the fight against terrorism
The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirms that the martyrdom of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis has actually strengthened the capabilities of the Resistance Axis.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the martyrdom of Al-Quds Force Commander, General Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, along with their companions, not only strengthened the capabilities of the Resistance Axis, but also enhanced Iran's internal front in terms of national cohesion and unity.
Iran is preparing for the launching of a week-long event to commemorate his martyrdom, including a January 7 display of their "missile capabilities."
The US is responsible
Iran held the US administration responsible for the assassination as they began commemorating his martyrdom on its second year anniversary.
The general was killed on January 3, 2020, after Trump ordered a US strike in Baghdad that left the General and his Iraqi lieutenant Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, shocking the whole region.
The Foreign Ministry said the response to the assassination represented by an attack on Ain Al-Assad US base has actually changed the game and resulted in the failure of the US regional strategy, adding that General Qassem Soleimani made strenuous efforts in the course of combatting international terrorism and the growing terrorist groups in the region.
A comment implicating Joe Biden was also Tweeted by the Ministry.
"Undoubtedly, the criminal act of the United States in martyring general #Soleimani is a clear manifestation of a 'terrorist attack' that was orchestrated and carried out in an organized manner by the then US government for which the White House is now responsible, the US government bears definitive international responsibility for this crime."
The Ministry confirmed that General Soleimaini is rightfully and proudly considered a hero in the fight against terrorism and a leader of peace, adding that despite his role, position, and high regard, the US administration planned and executed a criminal and terrorist attack against him and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, using double standards and making false allegations.
Therefore, the martyrdom of Soleimani and Al-Muhandis not only strengthened the capabilities of the Resistance Axis, but also enhanced Iran's internal front in terms of national cohesion and unity and pushed forward the strategy and discourse of the Resistance, the Ministry said.
Ain al-Asad strike
After Soleimani’s killing, Iran fired missiles at a US airbase in Ain al Assad in Iraq. No casualties were recorded however, dozens of Americans were reported to have suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result.
Ebrahim Raisi on the first anniversary of the death implied that even Trump is not "immune from justice," and that the killers of Soleimani would "not be safe anywhere in the world."
As for the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and Iraq, the Foreign Ministry concluded that the American escape from Afghanistan, the commencement of troops withdrawal from Iraq, and the change in the strategy of the US military presence in the Gulf region are only a fraction of the repercussions and effects of Soleimani's assassination.
