Today, Monday, the Syrian army entered the town of al-Yadouda in the northwestern countryside of Daraa, as part of a settlement agreement.
SANA, the official Syrian news agency, said that a center for settling the situation of militants and handing over their weapons had been established in the town of al-Yadouda.
The Syrian army and the competent authorities entered Daraa al-Balad area on September 8 and raised the Syrian flag.
SANA also reported that the army began setting several checkpoints and combing the area to declare it free of terrorism.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent stated that the situation of about 800 militants has been settled in Daraa al-Balad. He also revealed that units of the Syrian army discovered a tunnel dug by armed groups under residential buildings, which was used to infiltrate and attack residential neighborhoods and army checkpoints in the city.
According to the Russian RIA Novosti news agency, 7 Syrian soldiers were killed and three others were wounded when a device exploded in their vehicle in the countryside of Daraa last Thursday.
It is worth mentioning that the settlement agreement proposed by the Syrian state was gradually implemented; the situation of dozens of militants was settled and the weapons that were in their possession were handed over with the aim of ending the terrorists’ control and restoring security and stability to all parts of the province.
