Trump 'the provocateur’ risks losing upcoming election: Graham
Donald Trump has made constant remarks on Kamala Harris upon her endorsement as the Democratic presidential candidate, making personal attacks rather than criticizing her political policies.
Republican candidate Donald Trump is at risk of losing the upcoming US presidential elections if he continues making personal attacks and comments about Kamala Harris, Senator Lindsey Graham said in a recent Meet The Press interview.
The comments from the Trump loyalist stem from his opinion concerning Nikki Haley's recent reprimand that the former US president and Republicans should “quit whining” and stop “talking about what race Kamala Harris is."
“Yeah. I don’t think – I don’t look at vice-president Kamala Harris as a lunatic,” Graham said to moderator Kristin Welker. “I look at her as the most liberal person to be nominated for president in the history of the United States.”
“A nightmare for Harris is to defend her policy choices,” he said, highlighting that the electoral rivalry should be based on policy.
“President Trump can win this election,” the Republican senator said, adding that “If you have a policy debate, he wins. Donald Trump the provocateur, the showman, may not win this election.”
Trump has made comments and remarks about Harris upon her endorsement at the end of July ranging from insults about her intellect and appearance to questioning her racial identity.
Over the weekend, the Republican held a rally where he declared he is "a better looking person than Kamala," adding that she had “the laugh of a crazy person."
Kamala responds, indirectly calls Trump 'coward'
The Democratic nominee has recently dominated the polls, gaining support in the pivotal swing state of Pennsylvania where she held a campaign appearance on Sunday indirectly calling her Republican counterpart a "coward" for his habit of constantly attacking his opponents.
“Over the last several years there’s been this kind of perversion that has taken place, I think, which is to suggest that the measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you beat down. When what we know is the real and true measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up,” Harris said, emphasizing that “anybody who’s about beating down other people is a coward.”
Trump's vice-presidential candidate, JD Vance, also recently described Harris as a coward, conforming to his running mate's tactics of personal attacks.
“President Trump walked right into the NABJ conference and showed he had the courage to take tough questions, while Kamala Harris continues to hide from any scrutiny or unfriendly media like the coward she is,” Vance wrote on X last month.
