A video of a Tunisian man setting himself on fire in front of the Ministry of Interior building on Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunisia was widely circulated on social media on Sunday.

The young man appears to be running in the street while on fire, while those around him are astonished and panicked.

Tunisian media has disclosed the man who was 35 and protesting against his living conditions, was taken to the hospital on Saturday evening eventually dying from his injuries.

This is not the first case of suicide from burning to death. A week ago, Naji Al-Hafyan died after setting himself on fire in a suburb of the capital in protest against his harsh social conditions according to his family.

The incident is a tragic reminder that little has changed in over a decade.

Mohamed Bouazizi was the first man to set himself on fire on December 17th, 2010, protesting his living conditions and sparking the start of the Jasmine Revolution.

President Kais Saied toured Habib Bourguiba Avenue on Saturday, where he announced that the government would be formed as soon as possible.
