Two Israeli settlers wounded in Sheikh Jarrah shooting
The Palestinian who carried out the shooting was able to escape unseen.
Two illegal Israeli settlers were wounded during a shooting in Sheikh Jarrah in occupied Al-Quds, local Palestinian media reported on Tuesday, noting that the Israeli occupation police dispatched a large number of officers to the scene.
The two injured settlers are in moderate condition, Israeli media said, adding that they were taken to hospitals in "Tel Aviv".
Israeli media further reported that Israeli occupation police were at the scene, "investigating the shooting and searching for the suspect, who managed to escape."
The weapon seemingly used in the operation, a makeshift “Carlo” submachine gun, was allegedly found by Israeli occupation forces nearby the scene, as per media reports.
For long, Sheikh Jarrah has been a pressure point that the Israeli occupation has been capitalizing on as a weapon. The occupation has aimed to steal and destroy homes there, attempting the forced expulsion of Palestinians from the homes they have been living in for generations. Israeli settlers regularly attack Palestinians and their homes in Sheikh Jarrah Neighborhood, in parallel with the storming of Al-Quds.

The operation in Sheikh Jarrah came hours after a Palestinian was severely injured and taken to the hospital for treatment on Monday by Israeli gunfire, in the northern occupied city of Al-Quds.
Israeli occupation police opened fire on Monday morning on a Palestinian youth at the entrance to an illegal Israeli settlement in the vicinity of Beit Hanina, north of Al-Quds, as per local media reports.
Confrontations erupted between Palestinian youth and Israeli occupation forces who launched a campaign of raids in the occupied West Bank and arrested a number of Palestinians.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that the Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian from the town of Dura, Al-Khalil district, and another from Nablus, along with two others from the eastern part of occupied Al-Quds.
In Gaza, Palestinian sources confirmed that occupation naval forces arrested four Palestinian fishermen at dawn Monday while they were working on board two boats off the coast of the sea of ​​Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that at least 92 Palestinians have been murdered by the Israeli occupation forces, including children since the beginning of the year.
