Iranian security forces have arrested two individuals linked to the Israeli regime’s Mossad spy agency in the northeastern province of North Khorasan, as part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown on espionage and sabotage operations.
Javad Ilali, the public and revolutionary prosecutor of North Khorasan, stated on Monday that the province's judiciary is firmly committed to taking decisive legal action against individuals engaged in intelligence operations for hostile entities. He emphasized the seriousness of the case, which is tied to broader Israeli-US aggression on Iran in recent weeks.
Ilali also noted that 15 other individuals are currently being prosecuted for disseminating false information and propaganda aimed at destabilizing the country during the 12-day escalation.
The arrests in North Khorasan come amid a broader crackdown on the Israeli spy network in Iran. Over the past several weeks, Iranian authorities have arrested hundreds of operatives linked to Mossad across multiple provinces.
Security forces have also dismantled numerous underground facilities reportedly used for Mossad drone operations, including sites for manufacturing and deploying attack drones and explosives. These sites were allegedly being used to plan targeted assassinations and conduct surveillance on sensitive military locations.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) had announced the arrest of 50 Mossad agents over the past two weeks in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
On July 1, the IRGC confirmed confiscating weapons and military ammunition, including American-made equipment that was in the possession of the detainees.
The IRGC revealed that these agents were planning to carry out acts of sabotage targeting the country’s infrastructure and economic centers.
