According to the report, a young man was shot dead by a security patrol during a raid on his home in al-Rawda village, located in the al-Zabadani area of rural Damascus, late Wednesday night into Thursday. The young man was shot as he tried to escape, killing him instantly. The reasons behind the shooting remain unclear.

In a separate but similar incident, a second youth was killed yesterday after security forces opened fire in Damascus’ Rukn al-Din district, with the observatory stating that the exact circumstances are still unconfirmed. The youth, who remains unidentified, comes from the village of Maaraba in Daraa.

According to the observatory’s tally, 884 people have been killed in different Syrian provinces since the start of 2025, comprising 838 men, 30 women, and 16 children.
