The spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, has described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as "tragic", citing severe shortages of water, food, medicine, and a lack of security.
He divulged that contacts with the Israeli government regarding aid have not yielded positive results so far.
The spokesperson said that the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that the shortage of necessities extends beyond food to medicine, resulting in more casualties.
He added that, according to the World Health Organization, there is a shortage of surgical supplies and medications, detailing how its warehouses are empty of therapeutic milk, antibiotic injections, painkillers, ambulance spare parts, and oxygen centers.
Ambulance personnel were also prevented from entering Gaza.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Sunday that its flour supplies in the Gaza Strip have completely run out amid the ongoing, intensified Israeli siege and the continued blockade of humanitarian aid.
In a post on X, UNRWA confirmed that its flour stock had been depleted for days, adding that the World Food Programme also reported on April 25 that its food stocks in Gaza were entirely exhausted.
The UN agency highlighted that nearly 3,000 trucks carrying life-saving aid are still waiting for permission to enter Gaza, as the Israeli occupation continues to block the passage of humanitarian shipments through closed crossings since March 2.

Concerns about developments in Lebanon
Regarding Lebanon, the spokesperson expressed that the UN was following the events in Lebanon with concern, including the raids that targeted Beirut's southern suburbs.
Dujarric called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from any activities that endanger civilians, adding that the UN Coordinator for Lebanon continues her contacts to reduce tensions, reiterating the need to respect Resolution 1701.
The Israeli occupation targeted a hangar located in the al-Jamous area of Beirut's southern suburb, in a blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty.
The targeted warehouse lies at the heart of a densely populated residential and vital area, adjacent to two schools and surrounded by residential buildings.
Warplanes struck the threatened site with three bombs, following three so-called "warning strikes", preliminary strikes with small payload missiles, carried out earlier by drones.
This attack came after the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation forces issued a threat earlier on Sunday, threatening the residents of the southern suburb to evacuate in preparation for the airstrike on the specified target.
UN disturbed by the refugee targeting in Yemen
He pointed out that the news of the recent airstrike on a residential home in Thaqban, located in Bani al-Harith District within Sanaa, which killed and wounded dozens, primarily women and children.
The Yemeni Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in Sanaa issued a statement today, Monday, declaring that the crimes of the American aggression have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of more than 1,300 civilians, along with widespread destruction of infrastructure.
The statement did not address the recent massacre committed at dawn today against African migrants in the city of Saada, northern Yemen, which claimed 114 victims, including both martyrs and wounded.
The ministry denounced the persistent atrocities carried out by US forces, targeting innocent civilians, civilian infrastructure, and properties.
