Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli aggression on the capital Beirut's southern suburb, urging the United States and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire, to assume their responsibilities and compel "Israel" to immediately halt its attacks.
"Israel's" continued undermining of stability will escalate tensions and place the region at real risk, threatening its security and stability, Aoun's statement read.
Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also denounced "Israel's" continued aggression against Lebanon and the terrorizing of civilians in their homes.
Salam called on "the states sponsoring the agreement on the cessation of hostilities to take action to stop the aggressions and to expedite the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territories."
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli aggression, echoing Aoun's warning of the undermining of regional peace and security, as well as Lebanon’s efforts to preserve its sovereignty, calling on mediators to pressure "Israel" to end its violations.
'Israel' launches airstrikes on Hadath in Beirut, Lebanon
The Israeli occupation targeted a hangar located in the al-Jamous area of Beirut's southern suburb, in a blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty.
The targeted warehouse lies at the heart of a densely populated residential and vital area, adjacent to two schools and surrounded by residential buildings.
Warplanes struck the threatened site with three bombs, following three so-called "warning strikes", preliminary strikes with small payload missiles, carried out earlier by drones.
This attack came after the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation forces issued a threat earlier on Sunday, threatening the residents of the southern suburb to evacuate in preparation for the airstrike on the specified target.
Evacuation threat
In a statement, Adraee called on all individuals residing in or near a building marked in red on a map shared by the occupation forces to evacuate the premises immediately. He claimed that these buildings were "in close proximity to facilities belonging to Hezbollah."
The threat terrorised civilians and caused traffic congestion in the threatened area, as citizens were trying to evacuate the region.
Earlier in the day, one civilian was martyred after being targeted by an Israeli drone in farmland between the towns of Halta and Wadi Khansa in southern Lebanon.
The aggression marks yet another flagrant breach of Lebanon's sovereignty as the "Israeli" regime continues its hostile operations across the southern regions.
