UN deplores Israeli ‘lawless behavior' amid ongoing genocide in Gaza
The European Union has also warned that the war on Gaza has reached "another breaking point."
As the Israeli aggression on Gaza continues, the UN human rights office has condemned "Israel's" "lawless behavior" in the Strip and the occupied West Bank.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) announced the denunciation in a statement on Sunday, criticizing the recent Israeli strikes on the al-Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza, killing at least 50 Palestinians.
These "attacks appear to be disproportionate in that they would be expected to cause incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, and damage to civilian objects excessive in relation to the concrete and direct military advantage anticipated," according to the bureau.
The Israeli occupation persisted in its aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 262nd consecutive day, perpetrating additional massacres against families and civilians, resulting in more casualties and injuries.
Israeli warplanes carried out a fierce airstrike on al-Zaytoun neighborhood east of Gaza City on Sunday night - Monday morning. Additionally, Israeli aircraft fired bullets around al-Nabulsi Square and Sheikh Ajleen area, west of Gaza City
Concurrently, Israeli warplanes also indiscriminately fired toward civilians in various areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
In Rafah, Israeli forces demolished residential buildings in the Saudi neighborhood, west of the city.
Regarding the Israeli abuse of Palestinians as human shields following the circulation of a video showing Israeli occupation soldiers tying a Palestinian civilian to the front of a military jeep in Jenin, the Organization for Human Rights (OHCHR) denounced "continued and flagrant violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law binding on Israel as the occupying power."
"Such actions constitute serious violations of Israel's obligations under occupation law concerning protected persons and under international human rights law concerning individual rights to life and health, the absolute prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment."
The United Nations Special Rapporteur in occupied Palestine, Francesca Albanese, expressed concerns, slamming on X the impunity by which the Israeli occupation operates against the charters of international law, saying, "It is flabbergasting how a state born 76 years ago has managed to turn international law literally on its head."
She further stated how "Israel's" actions may risk "the end of multilateralism, which for some influential member states no longer serves any relevant purpose."

EU says Gaza reached 'breaking point'
On its end, the European Union warned that the war on Gaza has reached "another breaking point."
The statement was made on Sunday by the bloc's foreign policy leader, Josep Borrell, and Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič.
“The delivery of any meaningful humanitarian assistance inside Gaza has become almost impossible and the very fabric of civil society is unraveling,” the officials stated.
“Starving civilians are resorting to desperate measures to access the limited aid that trickles in.”
In a heartwrenching revelation, the Government Media Office in Gaza reported that over 17,000 children have become orphans since the start of the Israeli genocide against Palestinians in Gaza more than eight months ago.
More shockingly, according to the Government Media Office in Gaza, three percent of the orphaned children in the region have tragically lost both parents due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Save the Children, a leading humanitarian organization for children, reported that around 21,000 Palestinian children are believed to be missing due to "Israel’s" intense attacks on Gaza. This estimate includes approximately 17,000 children who are separated from their families and unaccompanied, as well as about 4,000 children who are feared to be missing under the rubble.
The organization also highlighted that some children might have been buried in unmarked graves, while others have forcibly disappeared, including those abducted and taken out of Gaza.
