Gaza Health director killed in Israeli airstrike

Gaza's Health Ministry announced the martyrdom of Hani al-Jaafari, the director of ambulance and emergency services, and the injury of others in an Israeli warplanes' bombardment on the al-Bandar Clinic in the Daraj neighborhood, in Gaza City.

In a statement, the ministry said that al-Jaafari "represented, along with his fellow paramedics, a steadfast example of determination and sacrifice as they carried out their humanitarian duty to evacuate the wounded and martyrs around the clock, despite Israeli shelling and threats that disregard all international conventions and treaties."

The ministry, along with all healthcare providers, affirmed its determination to continue its medical humanitarian duty, despite the systematic targeting and direct killing that has affected 500 healthcare workers so far, along with the harsh and inhumane detention of over 310 others.

The Ministry of Health also reiterated its call to the international community, UN institutions, and human rights organizations to halt the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza. It urged the protection of the healthcare system and its personnel, demanding accountability from the occupation for its crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people, including the deliberate killing of healthcare and humanitarian personnel.
