UN's silence on Gaza is 'complicit, cowardly': Maduro
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro blasted the United Nations for its inaction on Gaza.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro described the United Nations' silence regarding the genocide carried out by "Israel" in the Gaza Strip as "complicit and cowardly silence."
In a speech at the conclusion of the 25th Global Development Forum for Special Economic Zones, Maduro stated, "Humanity aspires to a future of freedom and independence, where world governments are respected, and international law prevails—not the absurd theater that the United Nations has become."
He added that "in the face of genocide and the killing of children and women in Gaza, the United Nations remains silent."
Maduro's remarks come as Israeli occupation forces continue their all-out war on Gaza where 44,875 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of whom are women and children, and another 106,454 have been wounded.
It is worth noting that these figures only encompass the verified deaths and injuries of Palestinians, while thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets.
