PIJ in Cairo for talks
On December 23, a delegation from the Islamic Jihad movement arrived in Cairo to hold discussions with Egypt, with talks focused on ending the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement affirmed on Wednesday that the Resistance movement will be engaging in the negotiations held in Egypt with a clear set of goals: the end of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the reconstruction of the devastated Strip.
Earlier the same day, Hamas' Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh landed in Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials regarding the Israeli war on Gaza and "other issues," as per the Resistance group.
The Resistance group has repeatedly stressed that there will be no talk of any prisoner swap deal until the aggression on Gaza ends.
Our people need a halt to aggression: Hamdan
Earlier on Tuesday, Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan emphasized the movement's firm position on the "urgent need to halt the aggression against our people," revealing that Hamas received proposals from several countries regarding this battle against Israeli occupation forces in Gaza.
Hamdan emphasized, "Our people are not awaiting temporary pauses that the occupation would violate with additional atrocities against civilians; rather, they are after a comprehensive halt to the aggression."
