Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported early Thursday that a joint US-British aggression targeted the al-Qutaynat area in the border district of Baqim in the northern Yemeni province of Saada.

Our correspondent mentioned that the latest aggression on Yemen did not result in significant damage, while also reporting explosions in the province of Hodeidah.

This comes less than 24 hours after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) mentioned that six missiles were fired from Yemen toward two merchant ships on Tuesday, reportedly causing light damage to one of the vessels.

In a statement, CENTCOM said six anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM) were fired toward the Southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Three of the missiles were aimed at the MV Star Nasia, a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier that is Greek-owned and operated, the military command claimed.

"MV Star Nasia reported an explosion near the ship causing minor damage but no injuries", while a second missile later landed nearby and a third was shot down by a US destroyer, CENTCOM said.

The US military added that the other three missiles were aimed at the MV Morning Tide, a Barbados-flagged, UK-owned cargo ship, but they exploded in the Red Sea without causing damage.

Earlier, Yahya Saree, the spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced that Yemen's Naval Forces have conducted two military operations in the Red Sea targeting ships belonging to the US and UK.

According to the spokesperson, the first operation targeted the US ship "Star Nasia", while the other one targeted the British "Morning Tide" using "suitable naval missiles" and stressing that "strikes were direct and accurate."

Saree also announced the intention of the Yemeni Armed Forces to carry out additional military operations against US and British targets in the Arabian and Red Seas, asserting their right to respond to aggression and defend Yemen and its people.

Moreover, the spokesperson reiterated the Yemeni Armed Forces' commitment to pursue military operations in the Red Sea, specifically targeting Israeli shipping and vessels en route to occupied Palestinian ports. These actions would continue until the siege on Gaza is lifted and the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip ceases.

Sources also told Al Mayadeen that "the operation was carried out despite American and British overflights," and despite the ongoing bombardment of Hodeidah and Saada in recent days.
