US warplanes launched a fresh wave of airstrikes early Saturday across several northern provinces in Yemen, escalating pressure amid the country’s continued support for Gaza.
According to the Yemen News Agency (SABA), eight airstrikes struck the Khabb wa ash Sha'af district in al-Jawf province. Another strike hit the Bani Hashish district in Sanaa province, northeast of the capital.
Separately, Yemeni media reported a US airstrike on the Harf Sufyan district in Amran, north of Sanaa.
Yemen affirms support for Gaza despite US escalation
Yemen reiterated its stance in support of Gaza, its resistance, and the Palestinian people on Friday in another large demonstration held in Sanaa. The Yemeni Armed Forces have maintained operations inside Israeli-occupied territory in solidarity with Gaza, targeting an air base near Haifa, as announced by spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree during the event.
Despite escalating US strikes on Yemen and the recent participation of British forces in the attacks, Yemeni authorities have pledged to continue their military campaign until the Israeli occupation’s assault on Gaza is halted.
