The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced the successful launch of a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting the Ramat David Airbase, located east of the occupied city of Haifa.
According to a statement issued by Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, the strike was carried out using the Palestine 2 hypersonic missile. Saree confirmed that the missile reached its target with precision, while "Israel’s" interception systems failed to stop it.
The missile reportedly penetrated "Israel’s" air defenses and struck the military airbase, highlighting the effectiveness of Yemen’s growing missile capabilities. Saree emphasized that the operation comes in response to the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza, with full backing from the United States.
Saree reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian Resistance, praising the continued courage and resilience of Resistance fighters in Gaza. He stated that Yemen’s military operations will persist until the aggression ends and the blockade imposed on Gaza is lifted.
"This strike is part of our firm stance in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their Resistance fighters," Saree said.
Escalating military support for Gaza
Following the missile launch, Israeli media reported widespread alarm in the north of occupied Palestine.
Sirens were activated in over 250 locations, including Haifa, al-Nasirah, Afula, and Wadi Ara, amid fears of additional strikes from Yemen.
These retaliatory operations come as Yemen endures a brutal wave of US-led bombardments. According to the Ministry of Justice in Sanaa, more than 1,300 civilians have been killed or wounded in recent weeks, including numerous women and children. The United States stands accused of committing war crimes, with one of its latest strikes on a migrant detention center in Saada using a GBU-39 bunker-buster bomb, an internationally banned weapon with devastating humanitarian impact.
Sanaa has also placed the United Kingdom on notice for its renewed military involvement. In a statement released Tuesday, the Yemeni government warned of serious repercussions for Britain's participation in what it called the "trio of evil", the US, UK, and "Israel", vowing to confront their aggression "with all its strength."
Meanwhile, the US has moved to limit public disclosure of its operations in Yemen, citing "operational security." Since mid-March 2025, Washington has carried out over 800 strikes across the country, many targeting civilian infrastructure. Central Command admitted the operations have had "lethal effects" but offered no transparency regarding civilian tolls.
US, Israeli schemes seek to tear Ummah from within: Sayyed al-Houthi
The leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, affirmed on Thursday that the steadfastness of the Resistance fighters in Gaza is “remarkable”, and their operations “took the enemy by surprise and struck at the core of its strategy.”
In a speech marking the anniversary of the “Sarkha” (The Cry), Sayyed al-Houthi also praised the role of the Lebanese Resistance in deterring "Israel" and stressed that the American aggression on Yemen is part of the broader battle against the Ummah (Islamic nation).
The Yemeni leader stated that the US aggression on Yemen supports "Israel" and is part of the ongoing confrontation with it. He emphasized that the aggression led by the United States and "Israel" is part of a comprehensive assault aimed at implementing the Zionist plan against the Ummah.
