US-backed SDF targets Turkish airbase with Grad missiles in Syria
Al Mayadeen correspondent in Aleppo reports clashes in the governorate and a missile attack that targeted a Turkish airbase in the region.
Al Mayadeen correspondent in Aleppo reported that the city of Azaz, in the northern Aleppo governorate, had witnessed escalations throughout the day.
According to the correspondent 3 gunmen were killed, on Friday, including an official in the Turkish-backed Northern Storm Brigade, during clashes with gunmen from other opposition brigades.
Earlier today, the Al Mayadeen correspondent said that the SDF militants targeted Azaz's city center with Grad missiles, which is under the control of the Euphrates Shield militants.
He explained that "the shelling targeted the police station for the militants of the National Army - Euphrates Shield," which resulted in injuries, but no deaths were reported.
Also in Azaz, the correspondent confirmed, that "the Turkish base near the Bab al-Salama crossing, north of the city of Azaz, was targeted with Grad missiles, coming from the US-backed SDF-controlled areas."
Moreover, Al Mayadeen correspondent indicated that US-backed SDF bombed the city of Marea, south of Azaz, with a number of Grad missiles, without reports of casualties.
Syrian security services eliminate ISIS leader in Daraa
Earlier in the day, the Syrian authorities announced, on Friday, the killing of an ISIS leader in an operation launched by the Syrian security services in the countryside of the Daraa governorate, southwestern Syria.
The official news agency, SANA, quoted a Syrian security source who stated that "the security services carried out a security operation in the town of Muzayrib in the northwestern side of the Daraa countryside."
The cited sources added, "The operation resulted in the killing of one of the remaining leaders of the terrorist organization ISIS, Muhammad Ali al-Shaghouri, nicknamed Abu Omar al-Shaghouri, after storming the organization's headquarters next to the primary school in the northern neighborhood of the town of Muzayrib."
The Syrian security services explained via SANA that "al-Shaghouri is responsible for a number of assassinations and attacks that were taking place in the western countryside of Daraa."
The source further confirmed that the operation also resulted in "the killing of al-Shaghouri's companions, Ahmed Khaled al-Masri and Mohsen Zitawi."
Once the security services stormed the ISIS headquarters in the town, the source disclosed, the Syrian security services confronted ISIS terrorists resulting in the killings and confiscation of their individual weapons.
