US humanitarian aid to Gaza 'ridiculous, bitter show': Iran's Kanaani
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson states that the motive behind the US sending humanitarian aid to Gaza is an attempt to change its world image.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani labeled the US government's move of dispatching humanitarian aid to Gaza as "ridiculous and poignant," considering that Washington has vetoed the UNSC resolution calling for an end to the Israeli war on Gaza.
“The poignant move by the US to send humanitarian aid is a ridiculous and at the same time a bitter show,” he stated.
“On one hand, they prevent the cessation of war by vetoing UN Security Council resolutions, and on the other hand, they try to improve their warmongering image in the eyes of the world public by dispatching humanitarian assistance in a poignant and ridiculous way,” he emphasized.
During his weekly presser today, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson addressed the perpetual savagery of the Israeli occupation against Palestinians.
Kanaani, who highlighted that more than five months have passed since "Israel" launched its war on Gaza, stressed, "During this time, unfortunately, we are witnessing a painful inaction of the international community, especially the United Nations and the Security Council, whose main task is to ensure international peace and security."
"In the shadow of the support of the American government for the Zionist regime, we witnessed that the world and international assemblies, the United Nations and the Security Council failed to fulfill their human, legal, and international duty in stopping the war and maintaining peace in the world," he added.

US hypocrisy
Kanaani criticized the US government for attempting to support Palestine in its statements and acts when it has been playing a major role in the Israeli war on Gaza.
To elaborate on that, highlighting the US hypocrisy, Kanaani explained that the United States continuously sends its weapons to the Israeli occupation, while also sending humanitarian aid to Palestinians, which he believes is a US attempt to convert its hostile image in the eyes of the public opinion of the world.
Aid airdrops to Gaza, more of a show than a genuine humanitarian act
The Government Media Office in Gaza on March 8 called for the immediate and urgent opening of land crossings to allow thousands of tons of aid to enter, to prevent the deepening famine crisis in the Gaza Strip, especially in the north.
Commenting on the casualties resulting from the random air drops of aid, which led to the killing of 5 people and injury of several others, the office reiterated that such operations are not effective and are not the optimal way to deliver aid.
Five Palestinians, including two children, were killed on March 8 due to an aid airdrop mishap, where at least one parachute malfunctioned, causing a package to fall on them. The tragic incident occurred in the al-Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza at approximately 11:30 am local time.
The Office reiterated its previous statement regarding the airdrop of aid, emphasizing that such operations are more of a display and publicity stunt than a humane, service-oriented approach. It warned that these actions pose a deadly threat to the citizens in the Gaza Strip.
It also pointed out that a portion of these aids ended up in the sea, near the "separation barrier", or within areas controlled by the Israeli army, posing a danger to the lives of citizens attempting to access the aid.
It squarely placed the responsibility for the Israeli genocidal war against Palestinians, the ensuing famine, and the perpetuation of a starvation policy on the US administration, the international community, and “Israel". The office also urged the free nations worldwide to exert pressure on the occupation to cease genocide and starvation and to permit the entry of aid.
