The New York Post reported that US Vice President Kamala Harris' stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, is raising money for "supporting urgent relief for Gaza’s children" on her personal Instagram account.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) who is a member of the House Homeland Security Committee expressed that "It’s of tremendous concern and I find it abhorrent," adding, "To be honest with you, I am kind of stunned by it. It’s disturbing to the maximum degree."

The fundraiser has raised almost $8.1 million so far and is being operated by the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund, which is based in Ohio.

Van Drew alleged he was sure that the Palestinian Resistance would be able to abuse any humanitarian cash that entered Gaza.

Defying the VP's policy

Ella Emhoff has repeatedly insisted to reporters that though she comes from a Jewish background, she does not identify as Jewish, as a representative of hers insisted to The Forward in 2021 that she "is not Jewish," adding, "It’s not something she grew up with. Ella truly has no qualms with the faith, but she does not want to speak on behalf of Judaism, as she does not celebrate herself."

Emhoff's biological mother is film producer Kerstin Emhoff, and she is close to her stepmother who has previously celebrated her in a posting on X following her graduation from Parsons in 2021.

"Keep dreaming with ambition and there is nothing you cannot achieve," Harris posted.

This comes after her stepmother Harris alleged that Washington has no intention of sending US forces neither to "Israel" nor to the Gaza Strip but ended up deploying weapon-carrying ships and planning for billions of dollars to be sent to "Israel".

During an interview, Harris said that the US provides, and will continue to provide "Israel" with "council, equipment, and diplomatic support," reiterating Washington's position which claims that "Israel has the right to defend itself."

Most of the victims are women and children.

The US-based Jewish Voice for Peace took to social media platform X to demand an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza. In its thread on Saturday on X, the organization pointed fingers at the US for the "horror" in Gaza.

"We demand a ceasefire now to save lives. To stop genocide," it said, adding, "The Israeli military has already erased 47 Palestinian families from Gaza’s population registry; all members of the family, from all generations, are dead.... This is loss beyond measure."
