Vivek Ramaswamy drops out of race, declares support for Trump
US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy fully endorses former US president Donald Trump's campaign following the latter's win in the Iowa caucuses.
US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said he suspended his presidential campaign on Monday and declared support for Donald Trump following Trump's win in the Iowa caucuses.
He stated, "We did not achieve the surprise that we wanted to achieve tonight," as he was expecting to finish fourth place, adding "and now going forward, he [Trump] will have my full endorsement for the presidency."
Ramaswamy entered the 2024 race with no previous political experience, however, during the GOP presidential debates, he engaged in combative and sometimes personal criticisms.
Vivek is the founder of a biotech firm "Roivant Sciences" and the author of the book "Woke Inc.". Some of the policies he suggested include raising the voting age to 25, shutting down the FBI and the IRS, and ending affirmative action by executive order.
His people made up their minds
According to a CBS News-YouGov survey released on Sunday, as many as 80% of prospective Republican primary voters say former US President Donald Trump should be allowed to run for president again even if convicted of mishandling classified information.
According to the data, 61% of those polled indicated they would not change their minds about Trump in light of the accusations disclosed in the indictment, while 14% said their minds could change for the better.
What is more interesting is that 74% of voters expressed that they would like to see a nominee comparable to Trump if it were not him.
