Warsaw denies being behind Polish militants that attacked Belgorod
A top military official says that the Polish militants fighting in Ukraine "should not be identified with the authorities of Poland."
Poland denies that the Polish militants that were recorded taking part in a deadly attack within Russian territory are associated with the government, said a spokesperson for the Polish Minister Coordinator of Special Services.
The "Polish Volunteer Corps" announced on Sunday that it took part in an attack led by Ukrainian forces into western Russian villages in the border region of Belgorod in May
"The Polish Volunteer Corps described in the media is in no way associated with the Polish Armed Forces or any Polish institution. The activities of Polish volunteers supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russia should not be identified with the authorities of Poland," Stanislaw Zaryn posted on social media.

In May, a Ukrainian-led sabotage and reconnaissance group infiltrated the territory of the Grayvoronsky district of the Belgorod region and killed one Russian civilian while wounding 13 people.
Shortly after, a Russian counter-terrorist operation was announced.
Allegedly, these are the forces of the so-called "Polish Volunteer Corps" that were entering Bilhorod Oblast on 22 May. If we believe the reports, they were entering alongside the Liberty of Russian and the Russian Volunteer Corps troops.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, about 70 Ukrainian terrorists, four armored vehicles and five pickups were eliminated as a result of the counter-terrorist operation.
The remaining attempted to flee back to the Ukrainian territories but were completely eliminated in the process as they were hit by Russia's armed forces.
