Western Sahara not to take part in Arab League summit: Algeria at UN
Algeria's representative to the United Nations, Nadir Arbaoui told Al Mayadeen that Western Sahara will not participate in the Arab League summit taking place in the country next November.
Today, Friday, Algeria's representative to the United Nations, Nadir Arbaoui, confirmed that "Western Sahara will not participate in the works of the Arab summit."
In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Al Arbaoui categorically denied the participation of "Western Sahara" in the work of the Arab summit held in Algeria, pointing out that, "Western Sahara is not a member of the Arab League, and therefore President Ibrahim Ghali is not interested in the work of the summit."

He considered that, "those who promote this false and malicious news want to disrupt the work of the summit," noting that, "the signs of the success of the Arab summit are beginning to worry parties who are trying to undermine Algeria."
The work of the Council of the League of Arab States, at the level of permanent delegates and senior officials, continues on Wednesday in Algeria's capital to prepare for the foreign ministers' preparatory meeting for the 31st Arab Summit, which Algeria will host on the first and second of November.

Earlier, in September, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra said that "Algeria is ready to host a historic Arab summit that would bring Arabs together and unite their world."
In its preparations for the Arab summit, the Algerian government had called it the Palestine Summit, intending to unite Arab ranks around the Palestinian cause.
