World entered era of monumental irreversible changes: Lavrov
Russia's top diplomat says Moscow was able to thwart plots by the collective West to isolate Russia.
Efforts by countries of the West to create and preserve a pro-Western global order, where they can dictate their rules to the rest of the world, are "hopeless" and "worthless", according to Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"Attempts by the West to impose its will on everyone else, to impose its so-called rules on which it wants to establish and maintain a pro-Western order are totally futile and absolutely hopeless," Lavrov said during a meeting with the heads of offices of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov stressed that Moscow was able to foil Western plots to isolate Russia by establishing positive relations with the majority of countries on the international stage.
"The world has entered an era of monumental irreversible changes ... We managed ... to thwart the plans of the collective West to isolate ... Russia, and to ensure ongoing cooperation with the overwhelming majority of members of the international community," he said.

Despite the hysterical anti-Russia sanctions imposed by the West since last year to try and isolate the country from the global stage, Western experts admitted earlier that Russia's economy did not only withstand the unprecedented pressure but was also able to stabilize within a short period, hinting at the failure of the West's strategies.
Moscow has also managed to develop strong economic and political relations with what it dubs "friendly countries", which include major world powers such as China and India, in addition to regional powers such as Iran and Turkey, not to mention pushing forward BRICS and SCO blocs to play a bigger role on the international arena.
The enhanced relations enabled the sanctioned country to redirect its banned products, mainly oil and gas, from being reliant on Western markets toward Eastern markets, not to mention the drop in USD in many bilateral trades.
