Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said a Zulfiqar missile evaded Israeli-US defenses, caused panic, and was launched in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced Thursday that the YAF had launched a ballistic missile at Lod [Ben Gurion] Airport, describing the attack as part of “preliminary retaliation to aggression on our country, and in support of the Palestinian people.”
In a statement from Sanaa, Saree revealed that the YAF’s missile force fired a Zulfiqar ballistic missile that successfully reached its target, adding that all Israeli and US attempts to intercept it failed.
He further stressed that the strike caused panic, forced “millions of Zionists to flee to shelters,” and disrupted airport operations.

Saree also condemned Arab and Islamic governments, accusing some of inaction and others of complicity in the Israeli aggression. Such positions, he argued, embolden the occupation to intensify its siege on Gaza and expand its assaults, worsening famine and increasing civilian casualties.
“The suffering of our oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza makes it imperative for all peoples to take action and break all restrictions in fulfillment of their religious, moral, and humanitarian duty,” he emphasized.
The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) vowed to continue launching operations in support of Gaza until the Israeli occupation ends its military offensive and lifts the blockade on the enclave.
Earlier today, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation military announced that a missile was launched from Yemen toward “Israel.”
According to Israeli media, airspace at Ben Gurion Airport was temporarily closed following the Yemeni missile launch, before operations later resumed.

The Yemeni Armed Forces had also announced on Wednesday the execution of a military operation targeting a sensitive Israeli site west of the occupied city of al-Quds using a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile. According to the official statement, given by spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the strike achieved its intended objective and forced illegal settlers to flee to shelters.
The operation comes in direct response to the ongoing genocide and starvation crimes committed by the Israeli enemy against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Haifa drone operation achieves objectives
In a separate operation, the Air Force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a drone strike targeting a vital Israeli enemy site in the occupied city of Haifa. The drone operation was also declared a success.
These operations form part of the initial response to Israeli aggression against Yemen, as stated by the Yemeni Armed Forces.
The statement highlights that the timing of the operations coincides with Yemen’s preparations to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, who was described as a unifying figure for the Arab and Islamic nations, calling for resistance, justice, and support for the oppressed.
The YAF framed the actions as being in line with prophetic teachings to confront the enemies of the nation and reject any alliance with them.
