The Israeli occupation forces reported that on Wednesday, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by Israeli defense systems while heading toward the occupied Palestinian territories.
"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted," the Israeli Occupation Forces said in a statement.
The launch of the Yemeni missile led to the temporary closure of Ben Gurion Airport's airspace and triggered warning sirens in the occupied al-Quds area, Gush Dan, Sharon, Yarkon, Lachish, and Shomron regions, according to reports from Israeli media.
A fire broke out at a site in the central region of the occupied Palestinian territories as a result of falling missile debris following an aerial engagement by air defense systems attempting to intercept the Yemeni missile.
The Yemeni Armed Forces published a statement detailing their operation against "Israel", stating that it came in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and a preliminary retaliation to the Israeli aggression on Yemen.
The statement detailed that the missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a complex, dual military operation, involving two ballistic missiles: one was a "Palestine-2" cluster missile with multiple independent warheads, used for the second time, and the other was a "Zolfaghar" missile.
According to the YAF, the operation successfully achieved its objectives by the grace of God, by forcing millions of Israeli settlers to flee to shelters and causing the suspension of airport operations in the Ben Gurion airport.
Yemen remains undeterred despite 'Israel' killing PM
This comes after the Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Tuesday that they had carried out five significant military operations against the Israeli occupation, employing several drones and a cruise missile.
These operations targeted the headquarters building of the Israeli occupation army, the Hadera power station, Ben Gurion Airport in occupied Jaffa, the port of Ashdod, and the ship MSC ABY in the northern Red Sea, according to YAF spokesperson Yehya Saree.
Saree confirmed that the drone air force executed four distinct operations using Samad-4 drones, with the first strike targeting the General Staff headquarters in occupied Yafa and subsequent attacks focusing on the power station, the airport, and the port of Askalan.
In a joint operation conducted by the Air Force and Missile Force, the commercial vessel MSC ABY was struck using two drones and a winged missile, as the ship was targeted for violating the ban on entry into the ports of occupied Palestine and for its affiliation with the Israeli entity, resulting in a direct hit.
According to the Israeli military, this marked the first instance of a missile launch from Yemen setting off sirens in "Israel" since it killed Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser al-Rahawi and eleven other senior officials in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa last week.
YAF chief warns 'Israel': You have opened the gates of hell
The Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Major General Mohammed al-Ghamari, condemned the assassination of Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmad al-Rahawi and several ministers in the recent Israeli strikes on Sanaa. He stressed that such crimes will not deter Yemen from its firm and supportive stance toward Palestine.
Addressing the occupation directly, Major General al-Ghamari warned, “Know well that by committing this heinous crime, you have opened the gates of hell upon yourselves.”
Major General al-Ghamari emphasized that the Yemeni response will be “harsh and painful,” pointing to effective strategic military options under consideration. He assured the leadership and the people: “You will hear soon and see with your own eyes what will heal your hearts.”
He further pledged that the Yemeni armed forces will continue to advance their strategic military capabilities, both quantitatively and qualitatively, to confront the ongoing aggression.
