The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Wednesday afternoon the launch of a military operation targeting an Israeli military site in the occupied territories, alongside a series of drone strikes on US naval assets in the Red Sea.
According to the official statement, spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said that the Yemeni drone force had struck a military target in Tel Aviv using a newly developed drone named Yafa.
Saree also announced the targeting of several hostile warships, foremost among them the American aircraft carrier Truman, in the northern Red Sea using multiple drones. This, he said, comes as part of "the Armed Forces' continued response to the ongoing American aggression against our country and in retaliation for its crimes committed against civilians in several provinces."
The spokesperson further framed the operation as an act of solidarity "in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their valiant fighters, and in response to the ongoing genocide against our brothers in Gaza."
The Yemeni Armed Forces declared their unwavering stance, stating they are "waging this battle with courage, defiance, and faith, reaffirming—just as they have over the years—that great Yemen is unbreakable. It will not back down from supporting the oppressed Palestinian people, nor will it surrender to American aggression. Yemen will remain, as it always has been and always will be, a graveyard for invaders."
Saree also affirmed that the Armed Forces would continue to block Israeli maritime activity in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea. "We are determined—with reliance on God—to confront this brutal aggression and to support the oppressed Palestinian people until the aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted," he said.
On Wednesday morning, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced that their air defenses had shot down an American MQ-9 drone over Al-Jawf province using a locally made missile. It is the third such drone downed in the past 10 days.

The US has been waging a military campaign against Yemen since January 2024, targeting areas under the control of the Yemeni Armed Forces in response to their operations in support of Gaza and against Israeli and US interests in the Red Sea.
Earlier today, the Yemeni Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the US airstrikes on Hodeidah had risen to nine, with 16 others injured.
