Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched 23 airstrikes targeting the eastern Al-Balaq Mountain and its surroundings.

The Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched a series of raids targeting sites around Al-Yatama area, the administrative center of the Khabb and Al-Shaaf District bordering Saudi Arabia’s Najran in Al-Jawf Governorate, northeastern Yemen.

This comes after the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees were able to seize large parts of the strategic Al-Yatama area, west of the vast district of the Khabb and Al-Shaaf, as well as the major districts of the desert governorate of Al-Jawf.

During the past two days, the Army and Committees had taken control of the strategic Qashaan and Habash mountain ranges that overlook the Silbah valley leading to the same Al-Yatama area in a military operation that resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries in the ranks of Hadi forces and the Saudi-backed Al-Islah party.

Violent confrontations in the vicinity of Jabal al-Balaq in the city of Marib

In the city of Marib, violent battles are taking place between the forces of the Sanaa government, on the one hand, and the Hadi forces and Saudi-backed Al-Islah party, on the other, in the vicinity of the central Al-Balaq Mountain, which directly overlooks Al-Falaj point at the southern entrance to the city of Marib.

Moreover, fierce battles are ongoing between the two sides at the areas separating the eastern Al-Balaq mountain and the Kara District in Wadi Ubaidah District, southeast of the city.

These battles are taking place close to the vital main line linking the city of Marib and the Safer oil fields in Wadi Ubaidah district, east of the city of Marib.

Saudi-coalition raids

During the past few hours, the Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched 23 airstrikes targeting the eastern Al-Balaq Mountain and its surroundings, in a repeated effort to slow the advance of the Yemeni Armed Forces.

In the past two days, the confrontations resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens from both sides.

In addition, the Saudi-led coalition claimed that its air defenses had intercepted two drones launched from Yemen toward Abha International Airport, hours after intercepting a drone launched toward Khamis Mushait in Asir, southwest of Saudi Arabia.
