The Yemeni Armed Forces' Navy targeted two US-owned ships in the Red Sea, confirming direct and precise hits to the vessels, on Monday evening, the spokesperson for the YAF Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced.

The spokesperson said that the two targeted ships are the "Sea Champion" and "Navis Fortuna" bulk carriers.

He stressed that the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea will continue to escalate until the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip ceases. Saree underlined that these two attacks mark the third and fourth major operations conducted by the YAF in support of Palestine in the past 24 hours.

Earlier on Monday morning, Brigadier General Saree announced that the Navy conducted a military operation last night, targeting the British ship RUBYMAR in the Gulf of Aden, utilizing several anti-ship missiles. The spokesperson reported that the operation resulted in catastrophic damage to the ship, putting it at risk of sinking.

In his most recent update, Saree said that the RUBYMAR sank.

Saree reiterated that the operation was carried out in support of the oppressed Palestinian people enduring aggression and siege, and in response to the American-British aggression against Yemen.

He also confirmed that the Yemeni Air Defense Forces successfully downed a multirole US military MQ-9 Reaper drone over Hodeidah.

The US drone was "carrying out hostile missions against our country on behalf of the Zionist entity," Saree said.

"‏The Yemeni armed forces will not hesitate to take more military measures and carry out more qualitative operations against all hostile targets in defense of beloved Yemen and in confirmation of the position of support for the Palestinian people," Saree stressed, adding, "The operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red and Arab Bahrain will not stop until the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted."

It is noteworthy that this is the third high-tech drone shot down by the Axis of Resistance since October 7. The MQ-9 drone is capable of carrying multiple missiles and has been reportedly used in high-profile assassination plots conducted by the United States in the region. The system costs the US around $32 million.

In particular, the Yemeni Armed Forces have been able to down two MQ-9 drones with the last incident recorded on November 8, 2023.
