Yemeni NSG: Iranian-Saudi Dialogue Will Ease Tensions in the Region
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the National Salvation Government (NSG) meets with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sana'a, and the two sides call for dialogue to end the current war on Yemen.
On Sunday, the National Salvation Government in Sana'a considered that the ongoing negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia would extinguish the hotbeds of tension in the region, stressing the need to stop the aggressions of the Riyadh-led coalition on Yemen for 7 years.
According to Yemeni news agency SABA, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the National Salvation Government, Hisham Sharaf, announced during his meeting with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sana'a, Hassan Erlo, that "the ongoing Iranian-Saudi dialogue would contribute in extinguishing hotbeds of tension and enhance stability in the region."
He added, "Any arrangements or agreements to enhance security and stability in the Al-Jazeera [arabian peninsula] region and the Gulf cannot take place without ending the military aggression on Yemen, lifting the full siege imposed on the country, and reopening all land and sea crossings as well as airports, especially the Sana'a International airport."
Sharaf: Development of education is essential
Sharaf referred to "the efforts and movements of the Salvation Government towards the development of education, higher education particularly, following 7 years of aggressive war including the siege imposed on the importation of laboratories and educational material by the forces of aggression."
He expressed "hope that international expertise and experiences will be benefited from in various scientific and technical fields, including the expertise of Iranian universities and the [possible] opening of branches in Yemen."
For his part, the Iranian Ambassador reiterated, "No military solution can succeed in Yemen," stressing that "a peaceful political solution is the only solution."
