Yemenis take to mass demonstrations in solidarity with Gaza
The people of Yemen are demonstrating in support of the Palestinian people as the latter suffer under a stifling Israeli blockade starving hundreds of thousands of people.
For the 24th consecutive week, Yemenis took to the streets in mass rallies in the capital, Sanaa, and 14 other provinces to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, condemn the ongoing Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip, and voice their support for the operations of the Yemeni armed forces in support of the Palestinian Resistance.
In Sanaa, thousands of people gathered in al-Sabeen Square, chanting and carrying banners condemning the Israeli aggression and calling for an end to the blockade of Gaza. Similar rallies were held in the provinces of al-Bayda, al-Hodeidah, Saada, Dhamar, Ibb, Amran, Taizz, Hajjah, al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ma'rib, al-Dhalee, Lahj, and al-Jawf.
A statement issued by the organizers of the demonstrations stressed the need for the Yemeni military operations to continue in support of Operation al-Aqsa Flood until the cessation of aggression and the lifting of the siege imposed on the Palestinian people.
The statement also called on the Yemeni armed forces in all their formations to carry out "more impactful operations against the Zionist, American and British enemies." It also congratulated the fighters in the Axis of Resistance and the Palestinian Resistance fighters in Gaza for their "heroic and continuous operations."
The demonstrators went on to pay tribute to the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and expressed their deepest condolences for the unprecedented crimes they are being subjected to. They called on all medical and health organizations to quickly move to stop the horrific destruction of medical facilities and the targeting of doctors and patients in Palestine.
The statement also stressed the importance of continuing the mass rallies in support of the Palestinian people and their sacred struggle against the Israeli occupation entity.
United front of Resistance
Sources told Al Mayadeen Friday that a meeting took place between the Palestinian Resistance factions, Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, which aimed at coordination for the upcoming stage.
During the meeting, Ansar Allah underlined that it would continue carrying out Resistance operations in support of Gaza in the Red Sea and that the US-British airstrikes on Yemen would make no difference when it comes to their stance, according to the sources.
That said, the Movement stressed it was prepared to coordinate on all levels with the Palestinian Resistance factions.
On the other hand, the Palestinian Resistance expressed its appreciation and gratitude for the pivotal role played by Ansar Allah, underlining the depth of Yemeni-Palestinian relations.
The current leader of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abul-Malik al-Houthi, stressed during the meeting the pivotal role of the struggle of the Palestinian people, underlining the commitment of the Yemeni people and Ansar Allah to the Palestinian cause, according to the sources.
'Bolstering role of Resistance factions'
According to Al Mayadeen's sources, the meeting discussed bolstering the collective roles of the Resistance factions and their preparedness for a possible escalation during the holy month of Ramadan, and the Resistance expressed its readiness for dialogue and a ceasefire while reflecting on the developments of the talks.
During the meeting, the Resistance stressed that they were prepared to reach an agreement that would put an end to the aggression and that meets the expectations of the Palestinian people.
According to sources, the Resistance factions also reiterated their commitment to the main issue of the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from Gaza, stressing the importance of the return of the displaced Palestinians to their homes, especially the people of northern Gaza and the importance of reaching an honorable prisoner-captive swap deal.
