Zelensky 'Victory Plan' pushes NATO toward WWIII: French party leader
The Patriots' leader suggests that Zelensky is attempting to globalize the conflict by any means necessary following repeated defeats on the battlefield.
French politician Florian Philippot, leader of the Patriots party, told RIA Novosti that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's so-called victory plan is problematic for NATO, which has been gradually distancing itself from the promise to admit Ukraine.
"Zelensky's 'victory plan' is completely absurd, even inconvenient for NATO, which is trying to distance itself in some aspects, for instance from the issue of Ukraine's immediate admission, which would set the stage for a third world war," Philippot said.
He suggested that Zelensky was attempting to globalize the conflict by any means necessary following repeated defeats on the battlefield.
"Zelensky is pushing the West toward a third world war. It is a suicidal strategy because he is losing, and that is why he has presented this insane plan, which puts his allies in an awkward position. His only chance to win is a world war, otherwise, he is finished," Philippot said.
Philippot suggested that Zelensky was attempting to pressure the West into deploying troops to Ukraine.
He noted that the "secret clause" regarding the West providing a "non-nuclear deterrence package" to Ukraine seemed peculiar, especially after Zelensky's earlier statement that he would pursue nuclear weapons for Ukraine if it was not admitted into NATO.

Philippot has been a strong advocate for France's withdrawal from NATO.
In June, he accused the US of enabling a Ukrainian strike on Crimea by providing Kiev with ATACMS with "very destructive" fragmenting warheads.
Philippot wrote that the strike on "a crowded beach in Crimea, which killed several people, including two children, is a terrible escalation," explaining that "NATO hawks want total war."
Zelensky's plan recipe for direct Russia-NATO collision
On Thursday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov pointed out that Zelensky's "victory plan" is promoting confrontation between Moscow and NATO rather than fostering peace.
At a news conference in Moscow, Peskov indicated that the core of Zelensky's "peace plan" is to formalize NATO's direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.
"He kind of says -- yes, guys, you participated before, but like unofficially. Now let's make it official, let's have NATO here," said the Russian spokesperson.
"It's short-sighted, reckless, illogical in his situation."
Peskov described Zelensky's initiative as a “plan for further escalation than peace" aimed at "bringing the situation to the edge of the Russia-NATO collision."
Commenting on the West's reaction to the Ukrainian President's plan, Peskov said it seemed clear Western countries were not pleased with the settlement plan.
