China's Gong Lijiao won the gold medal in the Shot put competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with a 20.58-meter throw.
Lijiao beat the American Raven Saunders (19.79 m) and New Zealand's Valerie Adams (19.62 m).
The Chinese two-time world champion managed to set the best number in five years when American Michelle Carter recorded 20.63 meters at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
This is Lijiao's third Olympic medal after getting the bronze in Beijing 2008 and silver in London 2012.
China's record of 22 golds in the Tokyo Olympics puts it in the lead so far, three golds ahead of the United States, ranked in second, and five golds ahead of Japan, which is in third.
