Former NFL star Demaryius Thomas dies at 33
NFL and Denver Broncos mourns retired player Demaryius Thomas at 33 due to medical reasons.
NFL team Denver Broncos announced Friday the death of its former receiver Demaryius Thomas at the age of 33.
The Roswell Police Department told NFL media that the four-time Pro Bowler was found dead in his home on Thursday night, 16 days short of his 34th birthday. According to the Associated Press, Thomas' death is due to a medical issue.
"Preliminary information is that his death stems from a medical issue and our investigators currently have no reason to believe otherwise," a spokesperson for the police department told US media.
On Twitter, the NFL and the Denver Broncos paid tribute to the star who announced his retirement from his 10-year NFL career in June.

Commenting on his retirement back then, Thomas said "It was a tough decision, a real tough decision."
"But I'm grateful I did 10, 11 years. I'm so grateful for that and now I can move on. I'm happy, I'm healthy," added the late player.
"You could always count on D.T. He belongs among the greatest players in Broncos history," John Elway, Broncos Vice President of football operations expressed upon Thomas' retirement.
In 143 games, Thomas, a Georgia native, finished his career with 724 catches for 9,763 yards and 63 touchdowns.
He went on to play for the Houston Texans and New York Jets before retiring.
