Ronaldo Set to Become the Highest-Paid Footballer
Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, will overpass Messi and is set to become the highest-paid footballer in the world, according to Forbes.
Forbes said that Ronaldo's move to the Red Devils will make him the highest-paid player in the world, overpassing former Barcelona star Lionel Messi. The Portuguese will earn about $125m (£91.63m) before taxes in the 2021-22 season, including $70m (£51.31m) from his salary and bonuses.
For his part, Messi will earn $110m (£80.63m), $75m (£50m) of which are from his salary and bonuses at PSG. Neymar and Mbappe, the Argentian's teammates at PSG, will earn $95m (£69.68m) and $43m (£31.54m).
Coming in 5th is Liverpool's Mohamed Salah who is set to earn $41m (£30.6m), while Bayern Munich's Golden Shoe Winner, Robert Lewandowski, came in 6th place with $35m (£25.66m).
It is worth mentioning that Ronaldo's transfer from Juventus to Manchester United made his jersey the best-selling in the history of football.
