Russia calls for bolstering tech cooperation with Iran
After a recent trip by an Iranian delegation to Russia, about 500 Russian companies and businessmen have held talks with Iranian authorities in knowledge-based companies.
The Head of the Iran House of Innovation and Technology (IHIT) in Russia, Mehdi Deilam Salehi, said on Saturday that Russia is calling for stronger ties with Iran in technological cooperation, according to Mehr News.
Salehi explained that the first trip by an Iranian knowledge-based delegation to Russia dates back to 2019 and that a recent trip by an Iranian delegation to Russia strengthened ties between both countries, namely in knowledge-based economy and technology.
Close to 500 Russian companies and businessmen held talks with Iranian knowledge-based companies in the fields of medicine, medical equipment, and the food industry, Salehi pointed out, noting that IHIT is working to eliminate all obstacles and challenges impeding trade relations between the two countries.
Iran and Russia, according to Salehi, both have a mutual desire for joint cooperation in the technology industry, adding that the war in Ukraine has created the conditions for Russia to be more interested in cooperating with Iran than ever before.
