Tesla Shanghai takes legal action against Chinese firm
Tesla filed a lawsuit against Bingling Intelligent Technology with the first hearing scheduled for October 10.
Tesla has initiated legal proceedings against Bingling Intelligent Technology, a Chinese company headquartered in the city of Changzhou, for trade secret infringement and unfair competition, Chinese media reported.
Tesla contends that Bingling Intelligent Technology unlawfully acquired some of its trade secrets pertaining to integrated circuit chip design.
These alleged actions, if proven true, could jeopardize Tesla's fundamental competitive edge and potentially harm its standing in the market, significantly affecting its business interests.
According to reports from Chinese tech media outlet Pandaily, the first hearing for this case is scheduled to take place in the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court on October 10.
Established in 2022, Bingling Intelligent Technology is primarily engaged in integrated circuit chip design and related services, as well as the development and production of automotive components. Of note, in March 2023, Xiaomi Intelligent Manufacturing acquired an 11.86% stake in the company, indicating a growing interest in the semiconductor industry.
