He argued that the United States is relying on "WMD-level lies" about cartels and gangs to justify a new regime-change campaign in Venezuela. Blumenthal pointed to US sanctions and coup efforts that destroyed Venezuela’s economy and triggered mass migration, warning that Trump and Rubio are steering the US toward a Libya-style in the Western Hemisphere.
