Georges Abdallah's brother: It’s a feeling full of contradictions

As Georges Abdallah heads to Beirut, finally freed after 41 years in French prisons, Al Mayadeen interviewed his brother Maurice Abdallah ahead of Georges’ long-awaited return to his homeland. Georges was originally scheduled to arrive in Lebanon on July 26. However, his early deportation today has been seen by many as a deliberate move to disrupt the planned welcome and the celebrations awaiting him. Still, his brother Maurice affirmed that, despite these attempts, the celebrations will go on, Georges will be received with joy and pride, after decades of steadfastness and anticipation.
