Al Mayadeen, headed by Mr. Ghassan Ben Jeddou, set out to the world outside the boundaries of the media market, without any intent of competing with any entity. Rather, its quest was focused on finding the truth, armed with independence and honesty.

Yet, this time, the eye watching is not the watchful eye of its spectators and fans, nor is it the eye in pursuit of the truth through its audiovisual content and coverages. And most certainly, it is not the eye beholding its ultimate cause, Palestine. This time, it is the eye of espionage all focused and fixated on tracking and targeting its CEO.

The name of top journalist, Mr. Ghassan Ben Jeddo, being enlisted among the names targeted by the Pegasus program holds deep implications that are based on the fact that the (Saudi-Emirati-Israeli) war coalition is still determined to fulfill its project of uprooting Arab awareness. It goes without saying that one of the shortcuts in the course of achieving this goal is to track the most prominent figures of the honest and trustworthy media with an inevitable undertone of warnings and threats.

We can easily say that throughout the ten years of the "Arab Spring", this coalition's media played the role of a "surreal authority". With such authority, it managed, through false witnesses and total control over the projected image, as well as the sight of smoke and sounds of warplanes, not to mention the distorted narratives and made-up beginnings, ends, or characters… through all that, it managed to implant alien factors in the reality. Through all that, it created an illusion that later became a reality.

This is exactly what happened in Syria!

Over ten years, the war coalition spared no effort in the course of shaping everything into a confessional entity and inciting sectarianism among every group characterized by honesty. Moreover, this coalition's cameras were turning a blind eye to the slogans demanding "Death to America, Death to 'Israel'." It persistently sought turning any act of inflicted injustice or self-defense into an aggression, and any form of withstanding dignity into bullying.

This is exactly what happened in Yemen!

Sweida: What comes after the killing and siege?

Huge financial and technical capabilities have been harnessed to stimulate a sense of futility or to promote an "end of history" logic. The coalition media sought, through this narrative, to deprive the country of the opportunity to embark on the real challenge. It tried to implant in the public's mind the illusion that any battle is meaningless, as it is an already lost battle! This is what it tried to brainwash the public into thinking when it came to resisting the American presence and the possibility of expelling its forces.

This is exactly what happened in Iraq!

The coalition media worked day and night to mitigate the impact of any victory achieved and distort its image, to the point where it tried to depict it as a defeat. This is how the July 2006 victory was dealt with, and this is also how, through a vile and malicious strategy, the "Seif Al-Quds" Battle was depicted.

This is exactly what happened in Lebanon and Palestine!

Against the coalition's blowing wind, Al Mayadeen set out to the world outside the boundaries of the media market, without any intent of competing with any figure or specific entity. Rather, its quest was focused on finding the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, armed with independence and honesty. On this course, the image of the "surreal authority" was shattered before the actual reality per se. Al Mayadeen, side by side with other professional media outlets, restored the true image of Syria, instead of wrapping it with a false Hollywood flare.

Al Mayadeen set out on this journey and thus, certainly did not leave Yemen behind or standing all alone, not only by exposing the injustice inflicted upon it and the savage aggression launched on it, but also by revealing its true potentials and honest resistance that has gone beyond all limits and expectations.

On the same path, Al Mayadeen covered the unwavering and efficacious Iraqi efforts to expel terrorism, without the need for the help of the coalition (which was airdropping weapons to "ISIS"). The coalition's media at the time portrayed Iraq as helpless and unable to thwart the threat of terrorism all by itself!

In the Battle of "Seif Al-Quds", the coalition cameras were deliberately focusing on weepy images, conveying a message which says: "Alas! Behold all this destruction! We will not be able to confront them. Let us surrender and give everything up." However, Al Mayadeen, through its entire staff, starting from all its onscreen personnel, to the production crew backstage, all the way up to its targeted CEO… they were all sobbing their hearts out in solemnness, but at the same time, they were broadcasting the moments of the surely coming victory that the war coalition tried to kill in its cradle by all means possible!
