According to the Picasso family lawyer, Paloma Ruiz-Picasso, the last of famous artist Pablo Picasso's four children, was appointed administrator of the estate managing rights of the artist and his work, and has replaced her brother Claude.

74-year-old Paloma Picasso, businesswoman, fashionista, and perfume, accessories and jewelry designer is the daughter of the Spanish painter and French artist Francoise Gilot, who passed away last month in June.

Her lawyer, Jean-Jacques Neuer, stated that her appointment for the world's most important artistic succession was "very important for the art world".

The Picasso estate is not only owned by siblings Claude and Paloma Picasso but also by the grandchildren of the painter - Marina Picasso, Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, Olivier, Diana and Richard Widmaier-Picasso.

The estate management also manages the copyright and reproduction rights and trademark rights of Picasso's works.

It is responsible for issuing authentication certificates, and fights forgeries by taking legal action. 76-year-old brother Claude had been the director since 1989, and according to the lawyer, he wanted to step aside for his sister.

This news comes 50 years after Picasso's death in April 1973. Museums around the world, especially those in France and Spain, are scheduled to have around 50 exhibitions this year dedicated in his honor.
