12 dead, 31 injured in multi-car crash in Turkish province of Hatay
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca states that flames burst on the Iskenderun-Antakya highway, as he tweeted that 22 ambulances and three medical aid teams were sent to the scene.
After multiple vehicles crashed in Turkey’s Hatay province, 12 people were killed and 31 were injured according to local officials.
Anadolu Agency confirmed that a truck crossed into opposite lanes as a result of the driver losing control and crashed into nine cars and two minibusses. Many of the vehicles involved were parked on the side of the road near a gas station.
The Demiroren news agency claimed that earthquake rubble was aboard the truck when it hit another truck around 7 pm local time.
A witness, Ali Sarrac, stated that some of those killed were burned to death, as reported by Anadolu.

“May God have mercy on our citizens who lost their lives, I express my condolences to their relatives,” he said. “We will do our best to ensure that the injured regain their health as soon as possible.”
During the devastating February 6 earthquake that left at least 50,783 in Turkey, Hatay was one of the worst-hit areas.
