16-year-old boy arrested after stabbing girl, 15, to death: UK
A 15-year-old girl was tragically stabbed in the Priestpopple district of Hexham in the UK.
A 15-year-old girl was tragically stabbed in the Priestpopple district of Hexham, and a teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder, according to Northumbria police.
The ambulance service notified officers shortly after 5:10 pm on Friday of a complaint of a teenage boy and girl hurt in a suspected assault, as per police reports.
Police added that when emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they discovered that the youngsters had received injuries consistent with those caused by a bladed tool.
Northumbria police said in a tweet: “They were both taken to hospital, with the girl’s injuries described as life-threatening."

“Sadly, despite best efforts of hospital staff, the girl passed away later that evening. The boy suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital. Both of their families are being supported by specially trained officers at this devastating time,” the police added.
A 16-year-old boy was detained on suspicion of assault and, ultimately, murder. He is still in police detention.
