Bus Accident in Bulgaria Leaves 46 Dead
An incident in Bulgaria leaves several causalities including children.
A bus carrying 52 tourists, most of whom are North Macedonian, crashed in flames on a highway south of the Bulgarian capital.
Most of the passengers were coming back from the Turkish capital Istanbul to Skopje in North Macedonia.
The bus, which was traveling Struma highway about 45 km (28 miles) west of Sofia, Bulgaria, was reported to crash at about 2:00 a.m. (0000 GMT).
Initially, it was believed that at least 45 people had died in the incident, according to official statements. The cause and details of the accident remain unclear.
The Bulgarian interior ministry senior official Nikolai Nikolov then revealed that the total number of causalities has risen to 46 dead and 7 injured. Those who survived were hospitalized and now are in stable condition, the official from Sofia emergency hospital said.
